Founded in 1898, The Banner Independent is a weekly newspaper owned by Paxton Media Group, which owns 32 daily newspapers and associated weeklies throughout the Midwest and Southeast. PMG also owns WPSD-TV, the NBC affiliates in Paducah, KY. The Banner Independent is published on Thursdays.
